That’s my 17 year old mom photo left of her cousin Frances at the old Fleishhacker’s Pool in 1939. The top right photo is the army practicing in the pool shortly after Pearl Harbor. Today the pool is buried under the San Francisco Zoo parking lot.

This one is a personal then and now of me with my nieces taken in June of 1987. That was the 50th Anniversary candle they painted on the cement Island of the Bay Bridge the previous November, and hadn’t, entirely removed yet. Pier 14, in the news a lot these days, now juts out behind where we were
