Many years ago, the area of the Embarcadero, roughly between Sacramento and Pacific Streets, was known as the produce district. The Colombo Market was one of its major hubs. I did not know until recently that the gate from this old market is still standing at, what is now, Walton Park. (Thumbnail image)
